It is quite heavy, indeed, and it is able to deliver extremely realistic feel and sensations.
Thrustmaster TH8RS is made using the Hall Effect AccuRate Technology (H.E.A.R.T), which implements a magnetic sensor without using any tact switch or potentiometer. In addition, the manufacturer has indeed made Thrustmaster TH8RS to last for a long time. The firmware is upgradeable. So, you can simply renew and update the firmware to keep up with the latest features and technologies. It assures the users that Thrustmaster TH8RS can be used for future racing games as well, making it an excellent long-term investment.

Logitech G29 Shifter
The Logitech G29 racing wheel is equipped with a shifter named Logitech G Driving Force Shifter. The company is known to limit their products only for their specific brand, so it is not surprising that Logitech G Driving Force Shifter can only work with Logitech G29 and Logitech G920 racing wheels. It cannot work with any other racing wheel on any platform.
One difference of Thrustmaster TH8RS vs Logitech G29 shifter in terms of design is that the Logitech shifter comes with a hand-stitched leather boot and knob cover. The leather covers are indeed very nice and elegant. The gear shifter is also made of durable solid steel, but there are some plastic parts as well. The performance is pretty good, but the feel when shifting is not as great as Thrustmaster TH8RS.
The Logitech G29 shifter is also not as durable. The build quality is not as great. This shifter still relies on physical components for shifting the gears, so it will eventually wear down.
