Razer Blackwidow Chroma vs Corsair K70 RGB

Both Razer and Corsair are well-known manufacturers of gaming peripherals, and those great companies continue their competition with Razer Blackwidow Chroma and Corsair K70 RGB. These two gaming keyboards are available in a similar price range. They both offer a programmable backlight system that allows you to customize specific color schemes for different games. However, there are also several differences that set Razer Blackwidow Chroma and Corsair K70 RGB apart from each other. Should you choose Razer Blackwidow Chroma or Corsair K70 RGB for the best bang for the bucks? See the comparison below for the answer.

Build Quality
Perhaps the primary reason why you would prefer Corsair K70 RGB over Razer Blackwidow Chroma is the build quality. Featuring an aircraft-grade anodized brushed aluminum frame, Corsair K70 RGB boasts the ultimate durability and reliability. It can take a beating, and it will last for many years to come. In addition, the aluminum material makes the frame easy to keep clean. Corsair K70 RGB should be your choice for a gaming keyboard with supreme build quality, durability, and reliability.

Meanwhile, Razer Blackwidow Chroma comes with a plastic frame, which is indeed not as durable. The build quality is not as good. But, the advantage of a plastic frame is that it is more lightweight. The design of the keyboard is also slimmer and more compact. So, if you prefer a slim, compact, and lightweight gaming keyboard, Razer Blackwidow Chroma makes the way to go.

Backlight
Of course, these two keyboards come with their own backlight systems. But, even though Corsair K70 RGB’s programmable backlight is excellent – the CUE support allows you to create and save multiple color schemes to suit different macro profiles – Razer Blackwidow Chroma’s is generally considered superior.

That is because of Razer’s Chroma software. With the Chroma software, you can sync the backlight with your other Chroma-enabled devices. Many game developers have also utilized the Chroma SDK to make light effects related to their in-game events, creating such an immersive visual experience.

Macro Keys versus Wrist Rest
Razer Blackwidow Chroma comes with five additional macro keys, all of which are located on the left side of the keyboard. These additional keys can be handy for some games, as they allow you to assign various commands or keystrokes. They are also useful if you often have to re-map a game’s key layout to suit your specific layout.

On the other hand, Corsair K70 RGB does not have such additional keys. Instead, there are dedicated media controls and a volume knob. There is also a detachable wrist rest included. If you don’t need additional macro keys, Corsair K70 RGB’s features here will be more useful.
