Corsair K30 vs K70

Ever since competitive and professional gaming rose to popularity, various companies have started to design and produce computer peripherals specially for the purpose. One of the most successful companies in this field is Corsair. Corsair has produced various products, from liquid coolers to mice to keyboards for gaming. Two Corsair keyboards that we are going to discuss here are Corsair K30 and Corsair K70. There have been many people who got confused in choosing between Corsair K30 and Corsair K70. Both are gaming keyboards, indeed, but Corsair K70 is quite more expensive than Corsair K30. Then, what’s exactly the difference between Corsair K30 and Corsair K70?

Mechanical versus Membrane
The first thing that you should consider is whether you prefer a mechanical keyboard or you are fine with a membrane keyboard. Corsair K30 is a membrane keyboard, which is a major reason behind the more affordable price. On the other hand, Corsair K70 is a mechanical keyboard.

A mechanical keyboard is known to be much more durable and accurate. That’s because each of the keys is connected by a switch to the central board inside the keyboard. This way, the keyboard becomes much more rugged and able to withstand accidental spillage of water or other kinds of liquid. The switch system also makes the keys much more accurate and responsive. Plus, a mechanical keyboard tends to have that pleasant clicky feel whenever you hit one of the keys. Meanwhile, a membrane keyboard has an electro-mechanical membrane that sends an electronic signal whenever a key is pressed. It is cheaper, but not very accurate when you press multiple keys at once. And, if you spill some water on it, it is done.

Both Corsair K30 and Corsair K70 are backlit, allowing you to see the keys even in a darkened room. Corsair K30 is only available in a single color, which is the gunmetal color with red backlight.
