Corsair H50
Both Corsair H50 and Corsair H55 are completely self-contained systems. They come pre-filled, and, according to the manufacturer, they never need any priming or refilling. This is very convenient. Although Corsair H50 and Corsair H55 look similar, there are some significant differences. Corsair H50 is not compatible with AMD sockets, so it is only suitable for Intel users. Corsair H55
On the other hand, the newer Corsair H55 comes with the LGA2011 mounting bracket. It is compatible with some AMD sockets while keeping its compatibility with Intel. So, if you have an AMD CPU, Corsair H55 should be your choice.

Corsair H55 uses rubber tooling. The rubber is highly resilient and durable while being flexible to allow easy installation. The mounting bracket is very easy and simple to install without any additional tool. It has a micro-pin copper cold plate with pre-applied thermal paste and black aluminum heat exchanger.

Furthermore, Corsair H55 supports internal USB connections. This is very convenient. You can use the USB connections to allow automatic temperature control and speed adjustment. The fan unit does have a three-pin connector which is compatible with the fan controller connection port. Once connected, the fan unit will be turned on and controlled by the CPU automatically without needing your intervention.

Performance Comparison
In general, the performance of Corsair H50 is good. It can give better cooling than a standard air fan, keeping your CPU in a safe temperature range even when you are playing a hardcore game. However, the performance is not to be compared to the much more expensive custom liquid coolers, which can keep your CPU cool when overclocked.

The performance of Corsair H55 is slightly better than Corsair H50. The newer model has slightly wider pipes, so the amount of heat that it can carry at a time is surely higher. It is still far from the capability of a custom liquid cooler, though, so don’t overclock your CPU to extreme levels.
