Continue reading below and see whether EC1-A or EC2-A is more suitable for you!
Design and Size
Aside from the dimensions, BenQ Zowie EC1-A and BenQ Zowie EC2-A indeed look very identical to each other. They each feature a black plastic housing with a small red logo near the bottom. The scroll wheel is white and made of rubber. It feels very nice, solid, and precise. In addition, the scroll wheel can glow with changing colors. Unfortunately, the glow is not programmable – these gaming mice are plug-and-play, without any software to customize the buttons or lighting.
The primary difference between BenQ Zowie EC1-A vs EC2-A is the size. The EC1-A is significantly larger and a tad heavier. The large size makes it suitable for palm grippers. In general, it fits very well in a medium or large-sized hand.
On the other hand, the EC2-A gaming mouse is much more compact and a little bit lighter. Well, this model is not very comfortable, unless your hand is indeed small or you have been used to compact-sized mice. Claw grippers may also appreciate the smaller overall dimensions. You can also choose this model if you need a compact, portable gaming mouse.
As mentioned above, BenQ Zowie EC1-A and BenQ Zowie EC2-A are designed for right-handed users. Unsurprisingly, there is no additional button on the right side. There are just two additional buttons on the left side, which are easily accessible by the thumb. So, in total, each mouse possesses five buttons, including the scroll wheel button.
Both gaming mice’s buttons are of good quality. They feel nice, solid, and precise. They also register the clicks with great accuracy. Nevertheless, with either EC1-A or EC-2A, you can actually adjust the report rate; you do this by connecting the mouse to the PC while pressing the forward button for 500 Hz report rate, or the back button for 1000 Hz report rate, or both buttons for 125 Hz report rate.
BenQ Zowie EC1-A and BenQ Zowie EC-2A are equipped with the same optical sensors. Each model has a button on the bottom surface for changing the DPI setting. There are four DPI settings available, which start from 400 DPI, 800 DPI, 1600 DPI, to 3200 DPI.
These mice are not only comfortable to hold. They also offer superior tracking performance. This is the reason why, despite their simple looks and features, they are still preferred by many gamers.
If you prefer a larger and slightly heavier mouse, BenQ Zowie EC1-A is the way to go. The size makes it ideal for people with medium or large hands, most particularly palm grippers. BenQ Zowie EC2-A is a more compact model, which is great if your hands are small or if you indeed prefer a more portable model. Each model has five buttons, and both have adjustable DPI and report rate settings.
