We do think the overall build quality of RK61 is slightly below Anne Pro 2 because it is not as sturdy. The fashion is the same however and we can choose between black and white. Personally we like the lettering on Anne Pro because it is slightly thicker and makes the keyboard brighter.
We almost forget to mention that these are wireless keyboards so besides with the computer you can pair them with other smart devices as well such as tablet or smartphone and this makes the two convenient yet versatile, especially for those who will travel with the equipment. The keyboard is solid without any flipping feet below it but the base itself is already at an angle so the keys are not completely flat either. In the box you will find USB cable for charging and Anne Pro also gives a set of custom keycaps.
Anne Pro 2 and RK61 Switches
Now for the most important part, let’s see what the Anne Pro 2 and RK61 can offer starting from the switch. As it has been mentioned above, you can choose from a collection of switches in this keyboard but Anne Pro is using Gateron or Kailh while we are not very sure about who manufactures the RK’s switches since they don’t specify it. We choose the Red or linear switch since they are the smoothest as well but in comparison it doesn’t seem like the same switch as well.
Anne Pro 2 and RK61 Experience
In comparison, the experience is actually very similar unless you get a different switch. If you have never used the respective mechanical switches before, we do think the difference is not as noticeable but they are not identical too. Our only complaint with the keys is only the keycaps of RK61 because this variant is using standard plastic caps with glossy sides which may not be up to the standard of some people. It is robust however since the material is ABS Double Shot but many of us still prefer the PBT.
As for the overall experience, Anne Pro 2 and RK61 are very pleasing without any major complaint at all. The keys are very light and not wobbly so pressing them simultaneously is not an issue. For the Red switch they are not very loud either and this is while being used for fast typing too. The height of the keyboard is noticeable but if you don’t rest the wrist on the desk it may not affect the comfort at all.
Anne Pro 2 and RK61 Features
Lastly we want to talk about the additional features that you can find on Anne Pro 2 and RK61. Anti-ghosting is a standard feature in gaming keyboards so both have this ability but, while the two can do macro, since RK61 is manually programmed from the equipment, it is less convenient compared to Anne Pro with its Obinskit. You can read the manual of RK61 to program the keyboard but it is complicated so we heard some people complain about it.
In addition, if you are choosing the RK61 with a hot swappable switch, this feature will allow you to change the switch easily, something that is not offered by Anne Pro 2 yet. This ability is very useful in case you want to use different switch later.
Comparison
These keyboards are very ideal for gaming or regular computer use like typing but they are not the same. The cheaper alternative RK61 is coming with an unknown switch that is equivalent to the more popular switches used by Anne Pro 2 like Gateron and Kailh. The Anne Pro 2 also has better build quality and overall better material as well including PBT keycaps. Anne Pro 2 is easier to program but the RK61 hot swappable offers this useful feature for higher versatility.
